What you should know before starting your studies

You can start studying Slavic Studies (Bachelor or Bachelor Teacher Training) at the University of Graz without any previous knowledge of the language!

If you have little or no previous knowledge of the chosen focus language, you will acquire the entry level A1/2nd level (according to CEFR) in a preparatory language course.

After successfully completing the corresponding course, you are automatically entitled - without a placement test - to begin language training at the Institute of Slavic Studies (B/K/S, Russian or Slovenian 1b).

Students with previous knowledge of the chosen language take a placement test.
